SERVICES: Mediations, facilitations, presentations, and conflict resolution training
DESCRIPTION: Trained, neutral, volunteer mediators help people
resolve disputes by talking with one another in informal, safe, and
confidential settings. Types of disputes that can be mediated include adult guardianship and other elder care issues, pending civil matters, family disputes, landlord/tenant issues, Special Education issues, and truancy or incorrigibility issues.
Trained facilitators are also available for meetings to guide the meeting process, helping to keep the group focused and moving toward their goal(s).
Presentations on the center’s services and conflict resolution training are also available and can be tailored to the participants’ needs based on age (Kindergarten to adult).

SERVICES: Upward Bound is a pre-college preparatory program designed to
generate the skills and motivation necessary for success in post secondary
education. Students are eligible to enter the program after they completed 8th
grade but not entered 12th grade; are between the ages of 13 and 18; neither
parent has completed a four degree; have potential for post- secondary
education. Two thirds of the students must also meet the low income guidelines.
There is a year round program including a 6 week summer residential component
and a 9 month academic year follow up. Services include: tutoring, study skills
development, post secondary preparation and counseling.
